Bike and Walk to School Day
Join schools across Chapel Hill and Carrboro celebrating biking and walking to school. If you are interested in hosting an event at your school please let us know!
Carrboro Open Streets
The community is invited to dance, do yoga, ride their bikes, climb a rock wall, make smoothies on a bike blender, and participate in many other activities in a public space that not many ever thought of as a place to partake in recreation.
Creating a Culture of Roadway Safety
Want to make our streets safer for everyone? Please join us at 6 pm, Thursday, March 28th, 2024, at the Chapel Hill Library, Meeting Room B, for a community conversation with Leah Shahum, founder of the national Vision Zero Network.
BRT Station Design Workshop: North-South Bus Rapid Transit Station
Chapel Hill Transit invites the community to participate in a design workshop from 6 to 8 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 6, at Ackland Art Museum, 101 S. Columbia St. Provide input on station design concepts for the North-South Bus Rapid Transit (NSBRT) project.
The project team will be available to answer questions, address concerns, and facilitate meaningful discussions. The team will present preliminary station design concepts. Participant feedback will inform how to refine draft concepts into final station designs that reflect the character and values of the Chapel Hill community.
This event is informal and family-friendly. Light refreshments will be served, and attendees will have opportunities to win prizes for participating!
Chapel Hill Transit’s planned North-South Bus Rapid Transit (NSBRT) system will serve the Town of Chapel Hill’s busiest transportation corridor. NSBRT will improve transit access, enhance multimodal connectivity, promote economic development, and support more sustainable, transit-oriented land use and development along the identified corridor.
